time

"But what is the past? Could it be, the firmness of the past is just illusion? Could the past be a kaleidoscope, a pattern of images that shift with each disturbance of a sudden breeze, a laugh, a thought? And if the shift is everywhere, how would we know?" Einstein's Dreams, Alan Lightman

There is nothing firm about the past, especially when considering its relation to the now. I think that's what makes moving somewhere new so exciting. You remold yourself with aspects of your old and new world that you yourself choose. Were you shy? Do you not want to be shy anymore? Don't be shy. Did something regrettable happen that you want to forget about? Forget about it. The past may have helped make you but the current you is what you, constantly, are making of it.
